Quinoa, Puy lentils, Blood Orange and Goat Cheese Salad With Blood Orange Rosemary Dressing


Yes, yes! I have been on a blogging spree. When I make something exciting I can't wait another week to share it with you! Today's salad is very reminiscent of  kind of dinners I'm eating lately. But before that I have to tell you that the baby spinach and rosemary is from my tiniest balcony garden. And what a joy it is, snipping fresh leaves for your salads. Spinach has been by far the easiest thing to grow with little or no attention. But I'm also devastated that my bok choy went into the pigeon's belly instead of ours.

Spicy Roasted Chickpeas, Kale and Mango Salad


Recently, I asked my sister if she knew about Kale, she instantly replied with "The New Godleaf". Well, I couldn't deny that, everybody seems to be eating Kale and surprisingly the trend has also caught up in India where people are cultivating it at  home gardens. Indians take very well to bitter leaves and vegetables, so Kale is sure to please.

Of many things I love about Kale, one is it's such a sturdy leaf. Unlike spinach, it doesn't wilt into a messy ugly green. Infact when flash cooked, it's shiner and glossier than raw.

Paper Thin Whole Wheat Wraps



The daily produce is laid in front of us on the ground on a wide Indian motif printed, bright and summery red square cloth. We sit on it, with our legs folded, crossed under. Perhaps a posture only Indians can relate to as relaxed.  We teasingly argue about who gets which task to perform. The herbs have to be washed and dried, the cluster beans deveined, the stem plucked of the green chilies and the most sought after task - peel and cube the mangoes, so that one would enjoy sucking the last remaining flesh off the seeds after it's all done. It's messy, but none of the vivid mustard color flesh can go to waste, the king of fruits deserves that respect.

Turmeric Milk - Indian Home Remedy

It is humbling to know anyone would think I would know anything about Ayurveda. Honestly, I don't. What I do know nevertheless is simple Indian home remedies, which almost every Indian household has. One such remedy is haldi ka doodh which translates into turmeric milk, which is simply that, turmeric (haldi) with milk (doodh).

Steamed Tandoori Chicken


Whoever said that necessity is mother of invention had his or her brain screwed just right. This recipe just proves that saying.Who doesn't know about Tandoori Chicken. If you are an Indian and you don't know about Tandoori chicken than please refer to the second part of the first line of this post, and the opposite implies on you. Mix Dal Tadka - Indian Lentils Soup


I was having a hard time naming this recipe of dal which is a generic name for Indian lentils in Hindi. What you think dal actually is ? A soup? A stoup? A stew ? Its certainly not a curry that is what I'm certain of. I actually kind of get irritated when every Indian dish is named as  curry. So I decided to stick with soup!

Yogurt with Orange Marmalade, Walnuts and Pomegranate seeds


The yogurt is back. Those who know me, would know I have a long and obsessive affair with yogurt. But you don't know this. I have found a new and most addictive way of eating it everyday. With orange marmalade. No I'm not kidding you, I have been doing this for the last 2 months almost every single day.
