Masala Egg Scramble - Anda Bhurji

IMG_9151b

I sat on the staircase cuddling the bundle of clothes I had tied in my mom's dupatta (a multi purpose long scarf worn by South Asian women). The scent of my mom's on the dupatta was reassuring that I wasn't far from home. Far as much as a couple of metres feel like when you are a 10 year old. Dad and I had got into an argument over the volume of the television which disturbed his precious afternoon nap. I protested as I always did until dad went ahead the unplugged the wire. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I went to my room.

Indian Omelette

IMG_4830

If it wasn't for fusion food, my morning would be omelette less and that could be such a pity. And atleast half the time in the week, there would be no breakfast for M. And that's only calling trouble later in the day when M becomes extremely finicky when he didn't have his breakfast right. How the fusion that took place ages ago can make my life a happy one!

The Italian Breakfast, Spelt Flour and Cocoa Ring Cake - Guest Post by Giulia of Juls Kitchen

Tuscan Breakfast

Italian cuisine has always fascinated me and as much as I love it, I must admit my knowledge about it is quite limited. For more than a year now, I have been following Giulia's blog Juls Kitchen, who blog's from the beautiful Tuscany, bringing authentic Italian recipes to the virtual world. She is also the author of the cookbook My Grandma's Recipes featuring classic recipes of the Tuscan culinary tradition. I'm so happy she is on Journey Kitchen to share a fabulous homey and traditional Italian cake with us.

blackberry honey butter guest post gourmande in the kitchen (4 of 5) (1)

Here's a gorgeous guest post from Sylvie from Gourmande in the Kitchen, a brilliant photographer and great food writer. Her posts always teach me something new,  like this how to plan a cheese tasting party or maintaining an indoor herb garden. She is also a very special friend and I'm so glad that our paths crossed. I could say many thing about her but in one word she is 'extra ordinary'.

Yogurt with Orange Marmalade, Walnuts and Pomegranate seeds

The yogurt is back. Those who know me, would know I have a long and obsessive affair with yogurt. But you don't know this. I have found a new and most addictive way of eating it everyday. With orange marmalade. No I'm not kidding you, I have been doing this for the last 2 months almost every single day.
